I approach my practice from a strengths-based perspective.
My approach to both therapy and training assumes that people are their own best experts and already have many of the skills, abilities and competencies that will assist them to address the challenges influencing their lives.
It is important to feel confident in and comfortable with the counsellor you choose.
Part of my role is to help you assess whether we are a good fit for each other.
As you begin to explore therapy, I will be interested in hearing about:
+ You (and your family) outside the “problem”, including your personal interests
+ What you would like to see different in your life
+ What gets (or might get) in the way of reaching your goals
+ Your ideas for change
+ What you have already tried, what has been helpful/not helpful
+ How you see my role within with your ideas for change
